Litter "B" diary
4.8.2025
We are 6 weeks pregnant.
Chelsea is very happy, but she would only eat what she wanted. As her uterus is getting bigger, she doesn't eat a lot of food at once, so she is now fed 3 times a day in smaller portions.
Outside, she would still fly around like crazy and God forbid, if we see a cat in the garden, so I have to tame her a lot so that she doesn't fly and jump. But at home, she sleeps the whole time.
We have finished reconstructing the house where the puppies will be born. It was a bit late, but we have it. So we already have a new whelping box in the new one and Chelsea is gradually starting to settle in. 😊

We are about halfway through her pregnancy. Chelsea still refuses kibble alone, so she gets meat with side dishes and supplements. Plus, she gets vitamins every day.
You can already see her belly getting bigger, she is very sleepy at home. She is always following me like a tail. 😆
Today we ran out of packages, which included a playpen for puppies, kibble, formula milk, puppy porridge, calcium for Chelsea, extra colostrum in case the puppy is weaker and finally a large toilet when the puppies are bigger so they can go to the toilet where they need to.

From the 16th day after mating, I started to notice strong changes in Chelsea.
Her nature suddenly changed from a cuddly and active dog to a cruelly clingy, lazy one and she wouldn't take a step without me, as soon as I turned my head somewhere, she was right next to me and lay down right away.
From the 18th day, she didn't want to eat for us. And she never leaves a single pellet and would do a somersault for a crumb. Suddenly, she didn't want anything. So I had to pull out the raw meat, which she got into at least a little. I even started to notice changes on her belly. So there were signals, but I was very impatiently waiting for confirmation.
On Thursday, July 17th, we had a sono, it was a long day, because we didn't set off until the afternoon. And we can happily confirm that we can look forward to the little gray ones in our kennel by the end of August.
3.7.2025
On the 10th day after mating, we went to our vet for a check-up and vaccination against the Herpes virus. Chelsea's weight is currently 31.5kg
24.6.2025 ~ Day 15
Even though we wanted to cover on Wednesday, the vulva slowly started to shrink. We went to cover on Tuesday, but at least late in the evening.
The binding was done again in a moment, but it was already clear that it was getting worse. Even though both of them wanted it so much.
They were tied for 35min.
23.6.2025 ~ Day 14
On Monday morning, we set off on a trip to Poland, to Torun, for Dakar. The total distance for us was 1300km including the return trip. We checked in, checked where everything was and went 20min to the owner.
So the mating was in the afternoon, we arrived at the owner's property and waited for Dakar to be released. We were expecting a long foreplay, which wasn't much 😃. They ran a few times and the second time was probably over. They were tied for over 40 minutes.
Day 12
We went for progesterone again and it came out 5.66ng, which means that Chelsea is starting to ovulate. Compared to last year's litter, she ovulates earlier. So we'll go for mating in two days.
Day 9 of heat
We went for the first progesterone test. The result came out 2.8ng, we'll go again in two days.
June 10, 2025
Chelsea unexpectedly started to go into heat earlier for us.
